Announcing SBC FinTech & CyberSecurity Cohort III
Dear shareholders,
We hope all is well with you and your beloved ones.
Since successfully closing the IPO of the SBC Fintech & Cybersecurity Program in 2019, we have had the luxury to enjoy your active participation during the scouting-, selection- & acceleration process for the portfolio startups. Our latest Selection Events brought us from [1] the State of Fintech to the [2] Funnel Assessment that eventually led us to the [3] Selection Day events.
The Selection Days that took place over the course of this week were an even more energizing, inspiring, and engaging experience than we could have hoped for. The 20 participating startups did an amazing job which made it extremely challenging to select the final 10 portfolio startups.
After an extensive jury deliberation, for which over 10.000 data points were collected and taken into consideration, we have decided to add an extra startup to the Startupbootcamp FinTech & CyberSecurity 2022 Cohort. It is therefore with pride and joy that we’d like to announce to you the final 11 startups that will join the SBC Fintech & Cybersecurity program portfolio. Hereunder an overview of the selected startups:
Atmen - An African challenger bank that specializes in web and mobile money apps, card payments, money remittance, foreign exchange, pre-paid debit cards, and peer-to-peer payments, with additional services coming soon.
Energy Shift - A startup allowing smart crowd-funded investments in Solar farms, empowering the shift towards renewable energy.
Eqlaim - Eqlaim is a startup that quickly and accurately assesses business interruption claims for Insurers and their clients, leveraging AI to automate loss quantification and reporting.
Finoo - A fintech startup creating a new era for cross-border tuition payments focused on international students and their families.
Kle - Re-images financial education for teenagers with their families through smart allowance management, gamifying savings, and creating a generation of increased financial health.
Moneye - Moneye is a Saas Platform that allows SMEs to monitor all their bank accounts in real-time so that SME's can increase efficiency, save time and stay in control of their finances.
ProfitRocket - An advisory & reporting platform for investors investing in P2P loans across marketplaces.
SmarTrade - A Trade Finance startup using smart contracts to settle international trade payments, shipments, delivery and financial logistics.
Togggle - A startup building a decentralized bank for data, where people have more control over their digital identity and data.
Vemini - A hardware and software solution for fast, unbiased authentication through touchless palm vein mapping.
Yoola - A mobile-first management tool for financial advice and planning specifically focused on African Millennials.
The program will kick off on February 28th and we are extremely excited to start this journey with you, the startups and the many mentors, partners and advisors that have joined us in the past months.
Throughout the program, we will continue to update you on important events, developments and news about your investment.

Annual financial accounts 2020
Dear shareholders,
Please find the published annual accounts of 2020 attached. The most important metrics:
- 2020 was the year in which the first program of 10 statups was finalized.
- At year end, 9 of the 10 startups had fully gone through the process of creating a legal entity and issued shares to SBC Fintech 1921 BV. Therefore, 9 participations are listed on the balance sheet.
- Startups are valued at a purchase cost of €28.000, consisting of a €15.000 capital contribution and €13.000 in services provided in kind.
The P&L is rather straightforward:
- €70k in sponsorship revenue.
- €104k in revenue from the startups. This corresponds with the invoices sent for the services provided in kind.
- €950k in production and management fees; in line with the shareholders agreement.
- Resulting in an (anticiapted) loss of 765k.
Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any questions.

Annual report 2019 and program update 2020
Dear shareholders,
We hope that, despite the current situation, you are all healthy and safe.
Because of the official ending of the first program, we would like to provide you with an update. In the attached document you find a program update by our MD Douwe Mulder. The report contains general information on the program, the impact of COVID-19 and a more in-depth update on the startups in the first cohort.
Since we had to change our way of working while in the program there has not been a viable opportunity to host Demo Day the way we were used to. The event that was supposed to happen on the 3rd of April has been postponed until further notice. We are working diligently on a worthy replacement for the event. We will keep you updated on the Demo Day and send you an invite whenever dates are finalised.
Furthermore, we also uploaded the annual financial & management reports 2019 on the Nxchange platform. See links below.
The reports will be approved in the upcoming shareholders meeting on May 28 2020.
Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any questions.
Kind regards,
The Startupbootcamp Team
